Sustainability in Hotel Operations and Environmental, Social and Governance education program.

The European Sustainable Hospitality Club team conducted a social and environmental data assessment and training program in the hotel pre-renovation stage to align the hotel strategy with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), assist with certification guidance, redefine local impacts, and offer alternative sustainable locally-sourced suppliers.

Sustainability Program

The on-site assessment for ESG and sustainability involved a series of crucial engagements. The assessment included meetings with heads of various departments, spanning Sales & Marketing, F&B, HR, Housekeeping, Executive Management, and Chef teams, focusing on data collection.

Simultaneously, tailored training sessions were delivered to available hotel teams, emphasizing specific time slots for content dissemination. Strategy control discussions ensued, delving into internal control management systems and sustainability Plans, with tasks set for upcoming reviews and assessments.

Greentour Project

Partnership with EU-funded project Greentour.

Collaboration to support hotels to measure their environmental impact. This collaboration was born to promote the circular economy in hotels. Using scientific and methodological innovations, to analyse environmental impacts taking into account economic and social variables. Furthermore, the project intention is to promote interregional cooperation in the SUDOE area between public and private institutions and implement future-proof tools and strategies.

Make technology accessible in hotels and restaurants to measure their environmental impact. To date, ESHClub has enabled Greentour pioneers in collaboration with hotels and restaurants in Barcelona, Coruña, Lisbon, and Madrid.
